The Bull City Race Fest & Food Truck Rodeo is the culmination of a world-class running experience, in a world-class eating experience all in a world-class city!

  • Including a Gorgeous Half Marathon

REGISTRATION INFO:

Fee Schedule:
Half Marathon: $65, then $75 starting on 7/2, then $85 starting on 9/1
5 Mile Run: $30, then $35 starting on 8/1, then $40 starting on 9/16
1 Mile Run: $20, then $25 starting on 9/8 

Registration Deadlines:
Online registration closes on Thursday, Oct 16th at 11:59 PM. In-person will be available only at the expo on Saturday, but NOT on race day.

Restrictions:
For safety purposes and logistics management, baby strollers are NOT allowed in the Half Marathon, 5 Mile Run, or the 1 Mile Run. No exceptions will be made. Littering on the course will result in disqualification.

Updating or Adding Group Affiliation:
You can update or add your group affiliation for your existing Bull City Race Fest registration by logging onto http://www.sportoften.com, then click on the red My History tab on the top right of the home page, where you will find your registration.

Refunds, Transfers, & Category Changes:
All registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years. Runners will be able to change categories. Do not change categories without letting us know first! Please come prepared to pay the difference if upgrading to a longer distance race category. No refunds will be provided if you are downgrading to a shorter race category.

Parking is available for at the American Tobacco Campus in the North and South parking decks.  Each of these lots holds approximately 1,300 vehicles and are a short walk from the post-race area. [Driving Directions to the American Tobacco Campus] are available on the American Tobacco Historic District site.

Road Closures on Race Day:
-Jackie Robinson Way in front of the Durham Bulls Stadium – closed from 5:00-11:00 AM
-Blackwell St between Morehead Ave and W. Pettigrew St closed – closed from 5:00-11:00 AM
-All other roads used for the race course will close and re-open once the last runner passes. Please refer to the [Road Closures Chart] for more information.

Important Start Line Logistics:
Please begin lining up behind the start line on Blackwell St between 7:00-7:15 AM. Look for signage indicating your predicted pace and line up accordingly. Important pre-race announcements will be made at 7:20 AM and the race will start promptly at 7:30 AM.

Official Pace Team:
If you’ve got a specific goal race pace in mind, be sure to follow Official Pace Team runners. There will be groups running at 30 second intervals from a 6:30 to 10:30 per mile pace.  No pre-race sign-up required. Just look for the  Pace Runner shirts at the start line.

Bag Check:
Available from 5:00-10:45 AM on race day at the Mellow Mushroom restaurant on the American Tobacco Campus.
Please provide your own bag and do not give us your valuables.

Transportation for Relay Runners and 5-Mile Run Finishers:
Provided by Carolina Livery. Runners completing the 5-mile run on Duke’s East Campus will be transported back to the race site. Bus transportation will be for registered runners only (no spectators allowed). [Download Guide]

Portojons:
Located near the start line on Blackwell St and under the overpass by the Durham Bulls stadium. Please do NOT enter the American Tobacco Campus building lobbies for any reason, including using their restrooms. There will be portojons available at each aid station and near the 5 Mile Run finish line.

MINIMUM PACE REQUIREMENT:
Participants must maintain a minimum pace of 15:00/mile to participate in this event. This rule in place to enable Durham Police to reopen the major roads used for race course. It is suggested that you train at a minimum of 14-minute per mile pace. Thank you for your understanding.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

Half Marathon:
Top 3 Male & Female: overall, masters, relays, age groups: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over. Sorry, we do not ship awards.

5 Mile Run:
Top 3 Male & Female: overall, masters, age groups: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over. Sorry, we do not ship awards.

TIMING:
All runners will be provided with race bibs with timing chips attached to the back. It is very important that the race number be worn on the front of your shirt to ensure that it works properly. In accordance with USATF Rules, overall and cash awards will be determined by gun time while age group awards will be determined by your chip time.

WEATHER POLICY:
Races are held, rain or shine, unless Endurance Magazine determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day Endurance Magazine and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Endurance Magazine reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
