The Quintiles Bull City Race Fest & Food Truck Rodeo is the culmination of a world-class running experience, in a world-class eating experience all in a world-class city!


Fee Schedule:
Half Marathon:
$65 until May 31st
$70 for the month of June
$75 for the month of July
$80 for the month of August
$85 for the month of September
$90 from October 1st-16th

5 Mile Run:
$35 until May 31st
$40 for the month of June
$45 for the month of July
$50 from August 1st -September 15th
$55 from September 16th-October 16th

1 Mile Run:
$20 until September 10th
$25 from September 10th-October 16th

Half Marathon Shadow Runner – Run at Home and Get an Awesome Medal & Shirt!
$30* until October 10th
*Promo code discounts do not apply.  The shadow runner category is for people that are unable to join us on race day, but still want to run the 10 mile distance in their own local area.  It is based on an honor system.  We mail shadow runners a finisher medal and a shirt the week after the race. We do not allow transfers into the Shadow Runner category if you are already registered.

In-Person Registration & Changing Race Distances:
In person registration will be available on EXPO DAY.  No race day registration will be available.
Participants may change races, but you must do so on EXPO DAY, Saturday, October 15th. You will be asked to pay the difference with cash or check if upgrading to a longer or timed race. Refunds will not be provided if you are downgrading. Sorry, we do not allow transfers to the Shadow Runner category.
Please do not change races without letting us know!

Registration Deadlines:
Online registration closes on Friday, Oct 14th at 11:59 AM.
In-person will be available only at the EXPO on Saturday, October 15th, but NOT on race day.

For safety purposes and logistics management, baby strollers and pets are NOT allowed in the Half Marathon, 5 Mile Run, or 1 Mile Run. No exceptions will be made. Littering on the course will result in disqualification.

Refunds & Transfers:
All registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.

Race Start Times & Location
7:30 AM: Half Marathon & 5 Mile Run | Blackwell St & Vivian St
7:45 AM: 1 Mile Run | Julian Carr St

Road Closures on Race Day:
-Jackie Robinson St at the 147 Ramp in front of the Durham Bulls Stadium – closed from 5:00-11:00 AM
-Willard St at Blackwell St – closed from 5:00-11:00 AM
-Blackwell St between Morehead Ave and W. Pettigrew St closed – closed from 5:00-11:00 AM
-All other roads used for the race course will close and re-open once the last runner passes.

Important Start Line Logistics:
Please begin lining up behind the start line on Blackwell St between 7:00-7:15 AM. Look for signage indicating your predicted pace and line up accordingly. Important pre-race announcements will be made at 7:20 AM and the race will start promptly at 7:30 AM.

Official Pace Team:
If you’ve got a specific goal race pace in mind, be sure to follow Official Pace Team runners. There will be groups running at 30 second intervals from a 6:30 to 10:30 per mile pace.  No pre-race sign-up required. Just look for the  Pace Runner shirts at the start line.

Bag Check:
Available from 5:00-10:45 AM on race day at the Durham Bulls Stadium entrance on Blackwell St on the American Tobacco Campus (very close to the start line).
Please provide your own bag and do not give us your valuables.

Food Truck Rodeo
After racing across the finish line, The Food Truck Rodeo will be ready and waiting for you. While most trucks take credit cards you may want to bring some cash to ensure you can get your favorite sweet and savory treats!!

Located near the start line on Blackwell St and under the overpass by the Durham Bulls stadium. Please do NOT enter the American Tobacco Campus building lobbies for any reason, including using their restrooms.

Participants must maintain a minimum pace of 15:00/mile to participate in this event. This rule in place to enable Durham Police to reopen the major roads used for race course. It is suggested that you train at a minimum of 14-minute per mile pace. Thank you for your understanding.


Half Marathon:
Top 3 Male & Female: overall, masters, age groups: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over. Sorry, we do not ship awards.

5 Mile Run:

Costume Contest
Join the FUN with our 2nd Annual Bull City Race Fest Costume Contest! Cash prizes will be award to the best individual and group costumes!
Group & Individual Winners – 1st :$200, 2nd :$100, 3rd :$50

All runners will be provided with race bibs with timing chips attached to the back. It is very important that the race number be worn on the front of your shirt to ensure that it works properly. In accordance with USATF Rules, overall and cash awards will be determined by gun time while age group awards will be determined by your chip time.

Races are held, rain or shine, unless Endurance Magazine determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day Endurance Magazine and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Endurance Magazine reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
